Windy Ridge started in 1984 as a sweet corn patch. The sweet corn was sold at the farm and at farmers markets. We gradually added other vegetables. After ordering plants for our vegetable patch for a few years, the idea struck! Why not start our own in a small greenhouse?
From that idea and one small greenhouse, we have grown to three greenhouses. We now have a greenhouse business in the spring, take vegetables to market in the summer, and grow and sell pumpkins, mums and other fall decorations in autumn.
We grow all our own vegetable plants from seed. The varieties are chosen for taste and productivity. Many of the plants are for our own produce business, but we also grow an abundance for sale at the greenhouse and at the farmers markets we attend.
Vegetables feed the body, but beauty feeds the soul. Our annuals and perennials are purchased as plugs and are grown to maturity in one of our greenhouses. We plant several hundred hanging baskets with flowering annuals. Or if you prefer to design your own, we have annuals in a variety of sizes. Perennials are available in gallon pots or larger.
